New KUBRIX BlockRanger Software to be Introduced at FLAC/DEM Symposium

Interactive Grid Generation with BlockRanger Added to Short Courses

Minneapolis, MN (July 18, 2013) Just in time for the FLAC/DEM Symposium to be held October 22-24, 2013 in Hangzhou, China, Itasca will present its latest addition to the KUBRIX family of grid generation tools. KUBRIX BlockRanger is the newest member of a suite that includes KUBRIX Geo and KUBRIX Hex. The benefits of BlockRanger will be presented in a short course on Monday October 21 before the Symposium begins.

BlockRanger is an interactive grid-generation tool for FLAC3D that permits precise control over zoning. BlockRanger is a Rhino 5 plug-in which builds on the quality and ease of use of Rhino (purchased separately) to help geomechanics engineers create quality, hand-crafted FLAC3D and 3DEC grids for a wide range of precision applications in civil engineering, tunneling, nuclear waste disposal and mining.

BlockRanger expands the capabilities of KUBRIX into the realm of interactive mapped meshing. The interactive control of grid block corners and local grid density, aspect ratio and orientation is easy and fast with BlockRanger.

BlockRanger will be part of the software training offered during the short-course programs on Monday, October 21 before the FLAC/DEM Symposium commences. In addition to BlockRanger, short courses will be provided for FLAC, FLAC3D, UDEC, 3DEC and the new PFC version 5.0.

Please join Itasca at this important users’ conference to learn all that’s new at Itasca, and to hear the latest applications from those who use the software around the world.
